Thanks again to all the people who was behind me during those years Cheers guys : ) CG http://www.cedricgracia.com RED BULL ROAD RAGE On Saturday the 12th of September, the peaceful village of Saint Lary, France welcomed an unusual competition... the Red Bull Road Rage ! Taking place for the first time in France, this event has already been staged in the USA, Switzerland and Italy. This time it brought together around 100 athletes all willing to try and become the fastest one down a downhill road course where speeds can reach 100km/h. The first timed qualifying run saw the best 64 riders heading out in groups of 4, with the fastest first two riders going through to the next round, until a winner was declared in the final round. Cedric was invited for the grand premier of this event, equipped with a COMMENCAL SKIN. With just a few spec modifications, the bike proved to be very efficient against the swarm of road bikes used by the majority of the competitors. Spectacular reconnaissance runs gave way to the 4.6km race, bathed in sunshine, or at least until the rain came down, just in time for a slippery finale. Cedric was in second place but had to deal with a dangerous slide in a corner. Despite the scary moment, Cedric was able to take a respectable 5th place (a semi-final round dispute meant that the final run was held with 4, not 5 riders). Cedric was able to see his friend Frederic MONCASSIN (previous Tour de France stage winner and yellow jersey holder who has been retired for 10 years!) crush the competition to take the win! Some words from CG : "When I heard about the road rage I wanted to do it for sure! The concept is fun and a lot of adrenaline. But the question was ? Will I be ready to race, because it’s only 3 months and ½ I been fixed up : ) The race was really good! Even with the rain, in the final I was in a 2nd place but I try to hard in a corner, I lost the grip and crash. It was fun as well to be able to ride with Cyril Despres and Fred Moncassin who win the race. Good time for sure and thanks to everybody who was involve in this cool event : ) " The results 1. Cédric Gracia http://www.cedricgracia.com OAKLEY CG Challenge will take place to VALLNORD Bike Park : August 1st from 2pm to 6pm (1st round) August 15 from 2pm to 6pm (2nd round) August 29 from 2pm to 6pm (3th round) September 19 from 2pm to 6pm (final round) OAKLEY CG Challenge is an individual race for the people who like to ride! “You don’t have to be a pro to race and have fun!” The keyword of this race is FUN! We made this OAKLEY CG Challenge to bring the people together with a different race format! More free more friendly than a real and serious racing program! All the level will be welcome in the OAKLEY CG Challenge! Meeting point will be to PODIUM Cafe Lounge from 2pm to 6pm to take one FREELAP clocks and start to ride. Each rider will be allowed to ride 2 runs with FREELAP clocks and we will keep best of two times. Three best riders of the afternoon will win OAKLEY product. The rider who will make the best results of the four events will be the winner of OAKLEY CG Challenge and will be winning a little price money made by the inscription fee (total money of all registrations). It is a timer that automatically tells you the time you have taken on a circuit. - Place before the start line - Set stopwatch to chrono mode 000 - Press START and check the wireless signal - Start your RUN (stopwatch begin automatically once you leave electromagnetic field) - At the finish, lap time is displayed during 10s. Press STOP to recall lap time. For a new RUN, place in start field and press START. Back on the bike! On the trainer only but you don’t know how happy I am right now. This morning I left to Perpignan to see my Doctor (Dr Christian FOURNOLS) and we work all day on my knee. Taking out the liquid of the knee, making some test on the LCA ligament, electro stimulation, flexion, extension... After all those test we decided to try the static bike! First complete movement wasn’t so easy but after couple cranks I felt better and better. I ammmmmmmmmmm back, yeah ! I know it’s just the beginning but I am more and more motivated to do the job good and get in shape to kill it. Told you guys! CG http://www.cedricgracia.com Hello everybody, A little bit of news from the old beat up CG : ) Wednesday 10, it’s already one week I have done my surgery! You cannot imagine how is the release physically and mentally : ) Just some words to tell you guys than I am doing fine and the surgery was a success (with all the mess who was inside the knee). I am lucky to have the support of my Doc. Mr Christian FOURNOLS from PRE SPORT Perpignan and of course my surgeon Mr PICARD who made the surgery and let me watch Roland Garros on TV ! I am not forgetting all the fans who send me all their support during this past four week : ) Thanks guys! I hope I will be back soon with you guys racing, because I miss it so much already!!!
